Nativity

On Sunday we had our childrens christmas nativity and they explained what Christmas was all about!
It was a glorious hour in praising our Lord through
His children.
It makes it so simple for us all.

The 18th Annual Santa Shuffle

On Saturday, December 6, 2008, close to 10,000 Canadians will participate in The Salvation Army’s 18th annual Santa Shuffle.

In 35 cities across Canada, festively attired runners and shufflers will run/walk 5k or 1k to raise funds that assist those in need during the Christmas season.

Proceeds from this family-fun event will also benefit The Salvation Army’s vital services and programs as we help support vulnerable people year-round.

Online Christmas Kettle - iKettle
The Salvation Army Online Christmas Kettle enables anyone to create and host their own iKettle. When you host your own online kettle, you give hope to thousands of Canadians. You can customize your own iKettle web page and invite others via e-mail to donate and fill your iKettle. All funds raised help people in need at Christmas, and throughout the year, in the local community of the donor. Visit SalvationArmy.ca/iKettle to learn more and to sign up.

What is Advent?

drop in
The word advent means"coming"
The season of Advent prepares us to welcome the birth of Christ on Christmas Eve
and Christmas  Day.
  • Advent is observed by millions of Christians throughtout the world.
  • In liturgical settings,Adevnt is actually the beginning of the church year.
  • Advent always begins four Sundays before Christmas Day.
  • Most people who observe Advent do so with some kind of candle lighting ceremony and  reading of the scriptures.
  • Advent when observed correctly can help us to develop the habit of recognizing the coming of  Christ into our everyday lives all the rest of the year.
